No More Shame - From More Surrender

No More Shame

What brings you shame?

As you read this it came to mind.

Tell it to God.

God wants you to forgive yourself

and let it go.

Find a small stone and keep it with you.

Let it represent your shame.

Carry it with you – name it.

When the time seems right, put it down.

Leave it behind.

Say to it, and to God,

“No more shame.”

Then if the thought of it comes back,

remember leaving it and say,

“No more.”

***

Max Lucado

I will not let past failures

haunt me. Even though my life

is scarred with mistakes,

I refuse to rummage through

my trash heap of failures.

I will admit them.

I will correct them.

I will press on.

Psalm 25:6-7

Remember, O Lord,

your great mercy and love,

for they are from of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth

and my rebellious ways;

according to your love remember me,

for you are good, O Lord.
