He Waits

He Waits

When do you meet with God?

In the quiet of early morning?

Hearing His gentle words and affirmations.

He speaks.

Midmorning coffee break?

Eyes closed, breathing prayers.

He hears.

Lunchtime?

A walk outside,

His joyful creation around you.

He blesses.

In the afternoon?

Resting your head in your hands.

Praying for strength.

He provides.

At bedtime?

Tucked in with eyes closed.

Reviewing the day.

Thankful.

He loves.

He waits for you.

Always.

Brother Lawrence

He does not ask much of us,

merely a thought of Him from time to time,

a little act of adoration,

some times to ask for His grace,

some times to offer Him your sufferings,

at other times to thank Him

for the graces, past and present . . .

One need not cry out very loudly;

He is nearer to us than we think.

and He will come near to you.
